Viridia Prime
Housing the base government of the Viridian star system, Viridia Prime (current population: 3.2 billion) is home to many races, the greatest percentage of which are humans and Bazrahin, the latter probably the original inhabitants of the planet—it is thought by many archaeobiologists that the humans are not a native species but rather the result of a scouting vessel getting extremely lost, spatially and temporally, as DNA mutations between them and other human colonies of the Parliament of Worlds shows less than a ten-thousand year variance.
The early history of the planet involves extremely paranoid militaristic nation-states constantly at war with each other, a trend that continued through their eventual subsumation and transformation into the Ctjn Empire and Miakovos-Pameka. While the Ctjn eventually made their peace with the Miakovans, their titanic military engine demanded a source of business for fleet maintenance, and after the annexation of Viridia Segunda as a territory planet, a long lukewarm war with the United People’s Revolutionary Confederacy of Free Rocks commenced, and later, hostilities with the Vermailians during the Urgency.
In the wake of the mass stripping of resources accompanying the military and civilian exodus, Viridia Prime suffered to the point of large amounts of the planet being rendered uninhabitable by its unstable Worldmind. Several hundred years later, Terraformers Triumphant, funded by Protheon grants, began operations to modify planetary conditions. Today, some sixty-eight percent of Viridia Prime is terraformed, and an estimated eighty percent of the population can only trace their Viridian ancestry to post-terraforming colonists.
