The Artifacturals were a splinter faction of the First Explorers. Disagreeing with their primary goals, the Artifacturals instead chose to explore worlds with the express purpose of discovering artifacts from the ancient Intoa civilization.

They set down on Viridia Prime as explorers, trying to find any trace of these artifacts. After entering the Bkmma, rumored to be a treasure trove of long-lost maps, the Artifacturals were never heard from again. It is likely that they found something useful and simply disbanded. A search party of the local government found traces of plasma fire nearby, but no one knows exactly what happened. Young romantics have occasionally attempted to solve the mystery, but nothing of substance is known.
