After the needlessly expensive and inefficient fiasco that was the First Nova Generator, Viridian authorities commissioned the second generator as a smaller proof-of-concept model in the hopes of avoiding the flaws that plagued the original device.

This generator was aerostat-portable, and when complete was transported to various sites across Viridia Prime in order to chart the ebbs and flows of the planet’s neural resonance fields, hopefully yielding the ideal location for the construction of a full-scale, energy-positive installation. Unfortunately, the theft of device left this procedure incomplete, and the Third Nova Generator was constructed on the largest-differential site covered, two kilometers northeast of the left eye of the Face of Hirith.

The theft remains unsolved to this day—experts are divided on whether the crime was perpetrated by Vermailian elements engaged in economic sabotage, or the Byforalla homeowners association, worried about the effect on property values were the downtown region, as some projected, found to be the ideal location of the facility.
