The Honored Canon of Sixteen Sentient Beings (or “Tribes” in some translations) has been handed down in Bazrahin society since time immemorial. First codified from oral tradition by Kargani in −17 s.y.v.p. and originally limited to Ascacian races, the Canon has undergone significant revision in almost every subsequent generation as Bazrahin lore has expanded. The version presented here is the 5301 s.y.v.p. text of Kharvak Rzanji, selected both for its inherent interest as a representative of Urgency-era Bazrahin thought and for the stir it created at the Science Confidence Exhibition that year, setting the tone for Bazrahin–human relations in the coming century.
