A star kriegball player in his youth, Vice Admiral Ratan Dutrilik was born s.y.v.p. 5230 in Iaasa to a wealthy family that bankrolled his extensive education, Conclave seat, and military commission.

Dutrilik commanded the Heterochron Pergamon in the Battle of Kriinkok. When the flagship Caraxa and the Admiral were destroyed, he was left to organize the retreat. Although an Arcturian like almost all others Vermailians, Dutrilik was extremely skeptical of the Gar’tor’at Prophecy, privately saying that it was too vague upon which to reliably plot military endeavors. He later regretted not going public with the statement, saying “If I had known the Admiral was plotting ambushes according to a well-known and widely-distributed document, I would have done my best to dissuade him.” Critically wounded in action, he retired from the starfleet shortly afterwards, spending the remainder of his life coaching kriegball as well as designing and weaving tapestries.
