Heterochron

The effects of altering the recorded future did not and do not concern me. I take no notice of such religious claptrap—I am a scientist. That the Arcturian heirarchy has been sitting on a class 2 displacement is their problem.
–Director Valter Qlondike, Truth and Reconciliation hearing, 5318 s.y.v.p.

While much of the scientific community was thrown into disarray in the aftermath of the destruction of the final Nova Generator, the Heterochron Research Society soon found ways to exploit the sudden changes in physical constraints. Capitalizing on the abandoned works of Dula Jyrexil, Heterochron technology was based on several xenomathematical concepts long considered pure flights of theory. While the weaponized results of their research are the most infamous, it must be remembered that the Heterochron ships were only slightly more powerful than conventional vessels at any one time.

The society was ordered disbanded in 5317 s.y.v.p, after Parliamentary Quaestors declared all Heterochron technology leveraging prescient amnesis (“time-blindness”) “threatening to galactic harmony” in the wake of Operation Aurora. Nevertheless, the ancillary fruits of Heterochron research effectively neutralized the technological advantage that Viridia, never terribly attentive to Parliamentary restrictions, had heretofore enjoyed.
