Omniscium Wherescape

For an impossibly ancient civilization with quite likely unimaginable power and resources, the Omniscium Wherescape has had suprisingly little influence on galactic affairs, with several notable exceptions.

It was popularly assumed for many centuries that the Wherescape presented no organized threat—the atemporal technology which defined and enabled them was inherently self-limiting. For every action taken by an Operant in protection of the Scenario, mind-shadows must necessarily issue a proportionate counterstroke, limiting Wherescape interests to what most sentient beings considered epihistorical trivia.

This evaluation was hopelessly naive. Unknown to even mid-ranking Omiscii such as M701-CL048, the Guiding Consensus held that the Arcturian Era itself represented an acceptable Deviance, bounded elegantly by the Hegemonic Purge. Though it seems unlikely to an untrained eye that this assessment was entirely accurate, one theory holds that the emergence of the Nova Entity brought about a critical shift in the Scenario itself, retroactively vindicating Omniscenti policy. The question of whether this occurred accidentally or by design is, naturally, meaningless.
