Okaki Uo

Born 2794, General Okaki Uo was relegated to Army duty after his mishap-laden stint as Vice-Admiral ended in a wave-form collapse during a complex maneuver, perhaps costing the lives of several hundred crew of dubious existence.

As for how he attained and retained his position in the army, theories range from nepotism (Uo was the brother-in-law of the Human Military Resources Director) to cunning sabotage (many reports complaining of incompetence never made it to official channels). Uo tended to lead with his gut (which, as his brother Satoshi commented, was usually hungry and naturally lacked neural tissue) and made a popular commander of great inspirational acumen. However, when viewed in a clinical light, his orders seemed a disorganized jumble of contradicting purpose.

Uo died in action due to mine shrapnel during reconnaissance prior to the Battle of the River Laduin. He insisted on accompanying a detachment into a nearby riverbed, “sniffing trouble,” he said.
