Kyoto Station has a multistory underground shopping mall called gThe CUBE.h The advertisements for The CUBE look something like a rejected cover art concept for OK Computer.

The CUBE—like the station itself, a big metal exoskeleton protruding from glass and steel walls—is a rare instance in Kyoto of modernity aggressively asserting itself. Usually, past and present coexisted peacefully, and I guess thatfs what we were there for.

Not to be outdone, the Kyoto municipal subway has an insignia which seems to be adapted from the biohazard symbol, or perhaps the Klingon Empire.
